Hi, I'm Keira. I'm a product manager here at viaGlamour. One of the coolest things about viaGlamour is that you can design pretty much anything from the packaging to the custom shipping boxes to the physical products themselves. You have a lot of control over how you want your brand to look. And we're really flexible about what you can design as well! There's very few limitations. You can use any colors in your design that you want, any type of branding, and any type of illustrations for your packaging art too.
You have a lot of art direction over what you want to create. So from viaGlamour's embedded app, we're assuming you've watched the previous videos and you've created a default product before, which we can create again if we go to the create menu second time.
You don't have a design for a product, that's totally fine. When producing your orders, your products would get printed with your store name in either white ink or black ink on the product, depending on what looks best and make it look as large as possible as we can make it. You can always change the font name and the branding name right below the product. If you create a customer order for it, or if you have a sample order for it, whatever your brand name is for your Shopify store, that's how your product is going to look like and keeping it like this is perfectly fine.
It looks super great in real life, but we can go one step further. So we can go over to design products on the left side of the menu, and to just get started, we recommend that to first create a universal logo for all of our products. Creating a universal logo is going to create a design file for every single product size, so that every single product at least has your design on it as a backup.
Once you have a universal logo, you can go again once one step further and customize a specific formula or a specific product to have a different design. For example, all your products could have one variation of your design, but for the Aloe Vera Gel being formulated for your cosmetics brand on Shopify, maybe you have a design where there is some new text or design element in the design exclusive to only the Aloe Vera Gel. You can totally do that, but for now, let's just start with a universal logo. So we'll click universal logo first from the left menu after selecting our designs. We'll scroll down and here are all the available options of how we can upload a design to viaGlamour.
By default, we recommend that you use our free design editor. The editor will look and feel like Canva where you can drag-and-drop your design elements, use our free text elements, and create your design without having to pay any artist fees or or needing to hire a graphic designer. Our design editor is a hundred percent free.
We can click open design editor. And then from here, we'll click start designing. This will open up a brand new tab, a brand new site, and you'll be greeted with a page with a fitted template that you can drag-and-drop design elements onto. You don't have to worry about resizing the canvas. Let's create a very basic logo. On the left-hand side, we have fonts shapes, layers, drawings, a lot of different options, but we can use - but to work quickly - let's go over to templates.
Select one of the logo templates for yourself. Then we can kind of move this up, move this down if we wanted to, and even change the color of the shapes.
We can click on the text, select the bucket tool, and let's select a bright yellow color for the demonstration of quickly creating a free logo.
And we'll move this up a bit as well. So here we create a, just a, a logo file. We're pretty happy with it. We'll do save and save design. When you save a design, it is super normal for something to take two to three minutes to save, because these files are very large. Sometimes it just takes awhile. So we saved the design. Then over back in our app, we'll click load, recent design, and this will grab that late latest file that we just created.
And the app will start rendering it on a physical product preview so that you can see how that design is going to look in real life on a product.
Now we're shown a free preview of our design. If we like it, I can click save design.
Now we can use that same design on a whole bunch of other products.
I'm going to reuse it for the Aloe Vera Gel for the Moisturizing Cream and for the Korean BB cream.
We can actually do this for all products, but for now, let's just do the four new products and we'll click on fast-forward designs.
Sweet. So now that design has been fast-forwarded you see that these check marks are now appearing next to the products with a design attached to them, and if we go to the universal logo, here's our preview of our recently designed logo. If we go to the Aloe Vera Gel, again, just waiting a few minutes for it to load. Here's the previously saved logo on the aloe Vera gel that got fast-forwarded to save on time.
By doing this within two minutes, you have a fully branded makeup line ready for launch by the end of the day.
We can go one step further again. Let's say that I really like the logo, but I want to make sure that some products have a different design.
Maybe we want to make a specific curated collection for a theme like the autumn season. We can head over to, let's say clear lip gloss. Again, we can go to free editor, open design editor, start designing a product once again, open up the design editor for us, and let's just create something different. So we'll go to clip arts. Let's just grab a free clip art for the makeup design. When you create your designs for your brand, you can explore everything that we have to offer from different illustrations to different fonts. There's no rush and everything is free.
We'll click the save button again and wait one to two minutes for this design to save.
We still got it through and here's a preview of our design on the crystal clear lip gloss that looks absolutely stunning!
And the product in real life is going to look 99% similar to this mockup we're shown online.
Now that design is going to be applied to the clear lip gloss, and we can repeat this process for any of the products here from the formulas to the boxes.
We can design every product to have a unique design or upload one design for everything. So let's just head back and do one more example of what else is possible. You've been using the free editor, and that's great if you're using a paid account or you're looking for more illustrations or perhaps photography or some kind of font that maybe we don't have. We recommend Canva.com as it's also free but comes preloaded with a larger set of illustrations and graphic designs that you could use for your online store.
We can click on the alternative 'Design with Canva' button, and this will open up Canva.com. We can login into our account and open up Canva's free design editor that'll look familiar to viaGlamour's free design editor but crowded with more design features you may want to use for yourself. Bck in the app, we'll see that if we're creating a design for the liquid lip gloss or the clear glasses, these are the dimensions that we require as a minimum.
So in this cases, 5, 4, 9, we'll do create a design custom size 5, 4, 9, go back. And 2, 5 10 are the other side of the digits.
We'll do create new design here. It's going to open up a very similar ar board, but on the left hand side, you'll just have way more options of what you can design with. So let's say that we're going to search to have plates for a logo. Nothing came up. Maybe we just should just go to logos on the left-hand side elements, templates, taxed.
Let's see what we can do. So maybe we'll just go to elements and I'll just find some kind of clip art that we can use.
Previously with viaGlamour's free design editor, you only clicked save here to view the online photo previews of how your designs would appear onto products. The steps with Canva are a bit more complicated. We'll click on the 'Share' button at the very top of the page and proceed to download our files here.
We need to download two types of files. One is a PDF for print. This is what we'll be using for inking of your files.
SElect PDF print. We'll select the option to flatten the PDF before saving. We'll switch this to CMYK as well.
And then we'll do the exact same thing. But now, instead of downloading a PDF, we'll be downloading a transparent PNG.
For the PNG settings, we want a transparent background that way we don't have a white background behind our designs. And again, we'll download the file.
And once both files are on your computer or your phone, you can head back to our app and just upload the PDF, just like the first file that you designed.
And then you upload the PNG, just like the first file that you designed. And that's all you need to transfer Canva files over to viaGlamour. Congrats!
If you're working with a graphic designer instead of using Canva or viaGlamour's free design editor, you can upload their files directly to viaGlamour. Most graphic designers work with Adobe illustrator and you can upload their Adobe Illustrator (.ai, .pdf) files to viaGlamour to view your free mockups. This is a third option of how you can transfer your designs into viaGlamour for free. You can ask a graphic designer to do the exact same thing of what we did in Canva for free, but use it with their professional software that they're using to create your original graphic design art.
Communicate with your graphic designer, ask for the Adobe illustrator PDF files that are going to be in the exact same format as a camera files. And you can just upload those files again here, the PDF that they give you and the PNG that should give you, and just by using these two files, with these free tools on viaGlamour, you can really quickly create all your graphic design art.
If however, you're creating a design and you're not creating it from scratch. And you're, let's say already have a logo, but you don't have a PDF for it. And it's not the greatest quality and you want our help fix fixing it. We're super happy to do so on the universal logo, you'll see a very unique file called logo file here, instead of uploading any anything from our graphic designer, editor or anything from Canva, you can just upload an image that you might already have in your computer.
However, it's limited to just accepting the logo files. You can take that file on your computer, give it to us for the universal logo and have all of your products designed in a few minutes. But aside from that, that's the, that's all you really have to know about our graphic design editor and what's possible within viaGlamour.
Once you design a product it'll have either a yellow or a green checkmark besides it's name. A yellow checkmark indicate that the product has a unique design not used on any other of your products. A green checkmark indicates that the product is reusing a design from another product design, that's uploaded with the yellow check. Mark you'll know that all your products have branding available on them.
Thanks for watching.
